Denton H. Wells, O.D.

Dr. Wells was born in Long Beach California and lived there for twenty years. Graduating from Long Beach Polytechnic High School and the University of California at Long Beach with a BA in Biology. He attended Palomar Junior College and received an AA in Science. His graduate work was at the Southern California College of Optometry, receiving the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Optometry in 1970 and the Doctor of Optometry (OD) Cum Laude in 1972.

Dr. Wells joined the office of one of his professor's in Westchester, California and worked part time in Long Beach for six months before joining Dr. James E. Johnson at the Vision Center, which was then located on Union Street in Victorville. Dr. Newton joined the practice in 1976. Dr. Johnson retired in 1986 (private practice 1969-1986). Dr. Sadorf joined the practice in 1988. The "new” office on Amargosa was finished in 1988.

Dr. Wells has been married to his wife, Donna, for more than 40 years and they have two sons, Robert and Kevin. Donna is a partner in Miers and Miers CPA’s. She manages the firm and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Notary Public in the Victorville office. She is active in the Victorville ROTARY Club and is a volunteer on many boards including St. Mary's Hospital and Victor Valley College. There outside activities include camping, snow skiing, biking, hiking, amateur (HAM) radio and playing with their German Shepard.

Dr. Wells is past president of the Mojave Desert Optometric Society and of the Victorville Lions Club. He has been a director of the Victorville Chamber of Commerce.

Currently he is a member of the Mojave Desert Optometric Society, the California Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. He is an assistant radio officer for the Town of Apple Valley Emergency Communication Service (ECS) and is on the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Victor Valley Search and Rescue team. He also serves as a Line Reserve Deputy Sheriff with San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and is assigned to the Victor Valley station.


Warren C. Newton, O.D.

Dr. Newton was born in Calexico, California in 1948 and lived in El Centro until he was three years old. His family moved to Victorville in 1951 when this area had a two-lane road in and out of town. He attended schools locally at Irwin, Del Rey, Victor Junior High and graduated from Victor Valley High School in 1966. He attended Victor Valley College for two years and then graduated from the University of California at Riverside with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1976 and joined the practice of Drs. Johnson and Wells in Victorville that same year.

Dr. Newton has been married to his lovely wife, Renda, who also grew up in this local area, since 1969. Renda teaches Kindergarten at Village Elementary School in Victorville. They live in Apple Valley and have three children: Kristi, Scott and Kari. Kristi is a teacher, Scott is in the Air Force and Kari works with her Dad at Desert Family Eye Care. They also have eight grandchildren who they enjoy spoiling.

Dr. Newton and his family love all types of sports and are actively involved in running, biking, golf and all types of water sports. When Dr. Newton and Renda have any spare time, they are cooling off at Lake Havasu on their SeaDoos.


Stanley J. Sadorf, O.D.

Dr. Sadorf was born at Wright-Patterson AFB, an Air Force base near Dayton, Ohio. Because he was raised in an Air Force family, he lived in ten states and three foreign countries before settling in California.

Dr. Sadorf graduated from Frostburg State College in Maryland with a BS degree in Earth Science, and from The Ohio State University College of Optometry with a Doctor of Optometry degree in 1981. He served as an Air Force optometrist for seven years, stationed in both California and Germany. He joined the practice of Drs. Wells and Newton in 1988.

Dr. Sadorf is a past president of the Mojave Desert Optometric Society, and has been a member of the American Optometric Association for over 20 years. He spends his leisure time with his wife Marcia, an elementary school teacher, and his darling daughter Laura.
